Wearability Means…

Rubber boots are what you wear when it’s wet and muddy. Rubber boots are waterproof and taller than other boots for even more protection from the elements. Tuck in your pants and you’ll keep dry and clean clear up to your knees. For outdoorsmen & women, farmers, ranchers, workers, gardeners and the like, when it’s wet or muddy, easy-to-slip-on rubber boots have long been the answer to wet and muddy conditions.

But, as rubber boot wearers know, this reliable waterproof protection has always come at a cost. Rubber boots lack the support, stability and cushioning of tie boots and, especially with prolonged use, can cause discomfort and joint stress.

The human foot is an engineering marvel with more than 200 muscles, 52 bones and 66 joints. Wearing poorly constructed rubber boots can compromise foot function and comfort and puts undue stress on the complex network of joints that run throughout each foot. Stress that can cause discomfort now and, over time, lead to foot, ankle, knee and/or lower back problems. Nobody needs that!

Enter Dryshod. Dryshod makes an entire line of rubber boots that not only keep your feet clean and dry, but also offer dramatically improved support, stability and comfort. With Dryshod, you get utility with wearability. Dryshod is the world’s most wearable rubber boot!

What makes Dryshod the world’s most wearable rubber boot?

Wearability means unmatched lateral and torsional boot stability

The foundation up which your foot sits inside a quality boot is called a tuck board. The No-Torque tuck board in a Dryshod rubber boot is a made of a thin but sturdy reinforced material that offers natural heel-to-toe flexibility for climbing hills but also significant structural side-to-side support for much greater walking stability. Plus, rigid non-metal “Shod Shanks”, which are designed to diminish the load incurred by your feet and legs, create a rubber boot wearing experience that is much more like wearing a hiking boot.

The tuck board also protects your feet from bruising or even puncturing in jagged terrain. And, not surprisingly, many rubber boots have no tuck boards or shanks which is why they offer virtually no support.

Wearability means a better fit and a more comfortable wearing experience

(Flexible, state-of-the-art materials allow for athletic-shoe sizing for a fit you just can’t find in any other rubber boot)

So many rubber boots are stiff and inflexible and sized to be worn sloppy. Rubber boot manufacturers do this because inflexible materials are less expensive. But this forces them to size up so that you can get their boots off your feet after a day of working or walking. Of course, these ill-fitting boots offer little support which can lead to an array of comfort issues.

Dryshod boots are made of natural rubber which is more flexible than the less expensive PVC or urethane impregnated rubber used by others. Plus, the 5mm Densoprene (a material used for drysuits) used to make a Dryshod boot is also naturally more flexible. Finally, the AirMesh lining is 4-way stretch, too. All of this stretch allows us to make properly sized boots to an athletic shoe sizing standard. This ensures a much better “LegitFit” to go with better stability resulting in all-day comfort.

Wearability means solid cushioning for joint-saving comfort

(Padded lining coupled with a padded removable insole provide double cushioning)

Pull the premium, high-impact insole from a Dryshod boot and feel the inside of the boot. You’ll feel a padded base upon which the padded insole rides. This double padding makes for a much more comfortable boot-wearing experience that also goes a long way to protecting all of your joints and lower back from impact stress.

Wearability means boot removal that’s easier than ever before

(RollDown design makes removal easier than ever, allows for venting)

The Densoprene uppers on a Dryshod boot are so flexible that you can literally roll them down to make boot removal much, much easier and cleaner, too. This RollDown design also allows you to tuck in your pant legs or to vent the boots. An oversized heel kick adds to the ease of removing a Dryshod rubber boot.

Wearability means superior warmth when it’s cold without added bulk

(Exclusive Densoprene neoprene is a drysuit material known for lightweight maneuverability and
insulation without bulk)

Densoprene, the neoprene material used in Dryshod boots is called Densoprene because of it remarkable density. This premium material was developed for use in deep water drysuits which require buoyancy and insulation without sacrificing maneuverability. It’s the perfect neoprene material for a rubber boot. In spite of being quite dense, the material is also extremely lightweight and offers amazing insulating properties. To the boot wearer, the result is far more warmth without any added bulk or weight

Wearability means 100% waterproof top to bottom and no soggy, heavy neoprene

(Hydrokote water repellent coating eliminates soaked or iced-up neoprene and rotting due to farm chemicals)

Dryshod boots are all treated with Hydrokote, a nano-scale hydrophobic water repellent that repels water, mud, ice and organic chemicals. Nano-scale means the pores are smaller than liquid molecules but larger than air molecules which, translated, means waterproof with breathability. Repelling water means the neoprene won’t get soggy and then heavy. It also means your boots won’t freeze and ice up. And, especially important to farmers and ranchers, it means farm chemicals won’t seep into the seams and rot away your boots, a longtime problem with uncoated rubber boots.

Wearability also means 100% waterproof today and tomorrow
(All-natural rubber with no PVC or urethane ensures no cold-cracking over time)
You might assume that all rubber boots are waterproof and will stay waterproof over time. The fact is, this is not necessarily true. Dryshod uses all natural rubber for the lower part of the boot which will stay flexible for many years. Other boot makers cut costs by adding PVC or urethane which can cause cold-cracking of the rubber over time, leading to leakage. Dryshod also double-reinforces the toe area and triple-reinforces the heels for longer wear.

Wearability means dry, comfortable feet, even when it’s warm
(AirMesh lining forces air movement which means your feet are less likely to sweat)
Ordinary rubber boots cause your feet to sweat because your feet can’t breathe. The AirMesh lining in Dryshod boots is made up of two non-abrasive, hypoallergenic layers that are separated by countless vertical fibers which, as you walk, cause air to circulate which, in turn, keeps your feet dry and the boots humidity-free within the boot’s specified comfort range.

Wearability means rubber boots that fit women, too

(Unlike others, Dryshod makes boots specifically designed to fit womens narrower feet)

The truth of the matter is that to save money in manufacturing, rubber boot makers simply down-size their existing men’s boots, add some cosmetic changes and call these boots women’s boots. Not Dryshod. We understand that women’s feet are narrower so we built boots specifically designed to fit women’s feet.

Wearability means the right sole for the job

(Natural rubber outsoles in five different sole configurations ensure long wear and exceptional traction.)

If you look at the soles on various Dryshod boots you’ll see several different soles configurations. Five to be exact. Instead of creating one sole and calling it an all-purpose sole, we opted to avoid that cost-saving shortcut and develop a series of sole configurations that are purpose-designed for the activity that each boot model happens to be designed for. The result is better traction and overall sole performance for your chosen activity.
